Happy New Year!!
I am definately not one to make resolutions. I give myself panic attacks even thinking about it. But this year I decided on a few simple things that I think I can handle.
1) I am going to write in my blog every day, even if only one sentence. I have been reflecting on how much I used to love to write when I was in school. The nuns would punish us by making us write a 5oo word essay on why we shouldn't throw pudding at the ceiling and I would be writing like a mad woman. I loved it! This was not a punishment to me, it was a way that I could write and use my imagination. Needless to say, the other kids hated me for it. While they were counting every "and" and "the", I was asking if it was okay if I had more than 500 words!
2) I am really going to try and organize my house the flylady way. I found her website about four years ago and I have been dragging my feet about really using it. I have done some things but I am really going to try and adapt it to my household. Right now my sink is dish free and that is a good start!
3) I am going to try and read something every day! When I was a kid I loved the smell of a new book, or an old one, better than anything else. Heck, I still think it is the best ever! I have to start reading because it keeps me from getting cloudy in the head!
4) I am going to jump start my prayer life by following the rule of our mission. I have really stunk as a missionary on this one! If I just follow what we are supposed to be doing every day my prayer life will be very good!
5) No matter how many times my kids call my name, I will answer politely. Sometimes when I have heard my name called for the twentieth time in five minutes, I am not so nice answering. It is not my children's fault that there are nine of them. They all deserve to be heard.
Finally, I am going to give myself a break if I have a bad day and mess up on all of the above! The baby has not been sleeping too well and I get crabby at times!
Happy New Year to all and may God bless you all in this new year!
